SBI Bank enters semifinals

KATHMANDU, June 1: Nepal SBI Bank secured its berth for the semifinals as runner up from group ´B´ with four points beating Casino Royal by 21 runs on Monday, in its last group match in the ongoing UWTC Inter-Corporate T-20 Cricket Tournament at Tundhikhel .[break]



Electing to bat first, the SBI Bank accumulated 103 points, losing seven wickets and bundling Casino Royal out for 82 in 18 overs.



Man of the match Durga Bhattarai scored the highest with 31 runs for SBI Bank, facing 56 balls with three boundaries. Likewise, Bishnu Lamichhane (20) and Monish Shrestha (15) were the other players to contribute double figures for SBI.



Prem Chand claimed two wickets for Casino Royal while Tara Joshi, Amit Singh Khadka and Hari Joshi dismissed one batsman each.



For Casino Royal, Prem Chand (15), Amit Singh Khadka (15), Dipeshwor Manandhar (12) and Hari Joshi (12) each contributed to the team. Durga Bhattarai claimed three important wickets for SBI Bank while Abhishek Sharma, Milan Shrestha and Min Gurung got two wickets each.



On Tuesday, Nepal SBI Bank will take on Casino Everest in the first semifinal, and in other semis Nepal Telecom will play the winner of the first match to be held between Sunrise Bank and Everest Bank.
