According to the Ilam district branch of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), it is yet to ascertain how the transformer was damaged. [break]
“Oil regulator value of transformer was found low and the coils were not conducting as well but we still don´t know the main reason behind the problem,” said section chief Rajiv Kumar Sharma. “We are allowing low heating in the transformer for trail. If this succeeds we will soon have lights within 24 hours but if that doesn´t work we may have to wait for three more days,” added Sharma.
With the indefinite blackout in district headquarters daily works in all government and non-governmental offices have been badly affected.
Sharma informed that technicians form Biratnagar were trying to solve the problem.
