Turban Tadka to open its first outlet in Ktm

KATHMANDU, Aug 7: Herbs & Spice Foods, which is currently operating The Yellow Chilli franchise in Nepal, is planning to open franchise of another popular restaurant Turban Tadka at Blue Bird Mall. The dhaba-themed restaurant will open in September.



Turban Tadka is a chain of thematic casual dining restaurant based on dhaba theme. It is run by Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, who is known for his TV show Turban Tadka on FoodFood Channel.[break]



“Turban Tadka is for everyone who loves stress free dining at affordable price. It is just like a popular roadside dhabas in India,” said Sokhi.



Herbs & Spices is planning to open Turban Tadka outlets in major cities across the country in the near future. “We will be opening 10 outlets of Turban Tadka so that people in all major cities across the country can try our food,” Pankaj Jalan, chairman of Herbs & Spices, said.







Turban Tadka outlets will be opened in Pokhara, Biratnagar, Birgunj, Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa and Butwal among others.



“As Turban Tadka is targeted toward middle class people and we provide different taste at cheaper price, we are hopeful that it will surely create a buzz in the Nepali market,” said Jalan.



By bringing Turban Tadka in Nepal after the success of The Yellow Chilli restaurant, Jalan said Herbs & Spices intend to become the leader in Nepal´s restaurant business.



Kabab and Biryani Fest @ The Yellow Chilli



Sanjeev Kapoor´s The Yellow Chilli (TYC) restaurant is organizing Kabab and Biryani Festival from August 9-26 with the objective of showcasing different varieties of kababs and biryanis from across the Indian subcontinent.



“This is probably the first time that a food festival is being organized inside a restaurant. We have planned to organize the festival to provide our customers new tastes that are not found in regular menu,” said Pankaj Jalan, chairman of Herbs & Spice Foods - the franchisee of The Yellow Chilli.



Jalan added that the company was planning to organize food festivals every three months to provide new taste to customers.



At the festival, customers can have a choice of chicken, mutton and fish kababs in the non-vegetarian category; while in the vegetarian category it has kababs like aloo ke mohrein, arvi ke kabab, khumb ke galouti and baby corn kabab among others.



Likewise, customers can taste biryani from across the Indian subcontinent like avadhi biryani from Lucknow, murshidabadi biryani from eastern India and chettiyar biryani from south India.



Meanwhile, TYC has added 15 new food items in its menu. In addition to that, the restaurant has also added a kids menu which consists of eight popular dishes loved by the kids.
