KATHMANDU, Jan 2: A 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck Sindhupalchowk at 1:02 pm today, with its epicenter located in Majhitar. The tremor was felt in Kathmandu and surrounding districts, including Sindhupalchowk.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, the quake was an aftershock of the 2015 Gorkha earthquake.
