Dio now comes with new style and better engine and the company has discontinued importing the existing version of Dio. Honda has upgraded the Dio after eight years of its first launch back in 2002. The original model of Dio was launched with 102cc engine, while the new Dio has 110cc engine which can produce a maximum power of 8bph at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.66 nm at 5,500 rpm.

“The new Dio features a premium sporty and trendy design which will appeal to youngsters as well as other customers and we are very excited to introduce the new product in the Nepali market,” said Jyoti.

The new Dio is more youthful, sleek and aerodynamic while the wedge design and flowing body structure has given the scooter a prominent and attractive look. It is longer, slimmer and taller and its body panels have multiple smooth edges. The smart front cover sports a wide headlight and clear-lens indicators which give the scooter a trendy look.

The dual tone and double-layered body style has made it more eye- catching and the wider, longer and more comfortable seat has made it more comfortable for short as well as longer rides.

The new Dio has a fuel tank capacity of 6 liters and for the convenience of the riders it has under seat storage capacity of 18 liters.

The new Dio has been enhanced with a combi brake-- a system designed for small scooters in which on application of the left lever, the brakes will work simultaneously on the front and rear wheels through the equalizer. It has a tubeless tyre that means customers do not have to worry of punctured tyres quite often.

According to the company, Honda Dio had market share of 50 percent and the company is hopeful that the new Dio will also gain similar popularity.

The price of the new Dio is slightly higher than that of the existing variant and is priced at Rs 155,900.
