BIRGUNJ (Parsa), Dec 21: The District Administration Office, Parsa, has so far settled 459 complaints related to unscrupulous lending (loan-sharking).
Assistant Chief District Officer of Parsa, Shiva Prasad Lamsal, informed RSS that out of the 1,875 complaints registered online, 459 were resolved in a way to dispense justice to the victims through discussions.

Two cases have been filed in the court after no agreement was reached. Assistant Chief District Officer Lamsal said that 459 complaints out of 918 registered were settled after consensus between the two sides. Around 16 bighas of 84 units of land have been returned after investigation and Rs 88.735 million has been returned on consent of both the parties, he shared.
At present, the highest number of complaints registered online against loan-sharks are related to lending and land-related transactions. It was found that some people paid a small amount of money for it, and there was a tendency to keep bank cheques of more than double or triple that value as collateral.
Assistant CDO Lamsal said that during the investigation of the complaints, the accounts or other documents, witnesses were also called to the office for necessary inquiries. Necessary evidence was sought and maximum efforts were made for consensus. According to him, during the investigation, the amount mentioned in the paper of the transactions was investigated to know whether or not the needs of the transaction were established.
