According to the agreement, the government will introduce the issues raised by the committee, including the demand for ethnicity-based federalism, in the Constituent Assembly. [break]
Similarly, the government has assured the committee of adopting mixed electoral system with a minimum sixty percent proportional representation and forty percent under first past the post.
Likewise, the agreement says the government will take initiatives to have a provision in the constitution to guarantee proportional representation of the marginalized communities in all state mechanisms.
The government has also agree to unconditionally release those arrested during the strike called by the committee and to provide free treatment to those injured during the strike.
The NJSC had been enforcing a general strike across the country from Sunday.
