KHOTANG, June 5: Bimala Rai, deputy mayor of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality has urged the intellectuals of her local unit living in Kathmandu to return home for observing and contributing to the development of their hometown.

A large number of students from Chyasmitar Secondary School (CSS) of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-3 have moved to Kathmandu for pursuing higher education after appearing for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). Speaking at a program organized by the former students of Chyasmitar School, Deputy Mayor Rai urged those students to come back and do something for the welfare of their local unit. ~I

She requested the students to visit their hometown at least twice a year and help in the formulation and implementation of development plans. "We need intellectual minds for bringing change and development," said Deputy Mayor Rai, adding, "Planning only is not enough. We all need to visit and take part in discussions and interaction at least twice a year."

Former students of CSS had formed a forum in 2011 and they recently presented a work plan regarding the development projects in various parts of the district. Since its establishment, this forum has been carrying out social works.
