NADA Auto Show 2016 from Aug 30

The event will have 125 stalls of 73 companies
KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Country's largest automobile event -- NADA Auto Show -- is beginning at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall from August 30.

The six-day event is being organized jointly by Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) and Global Exposition and Management Services. 

Organizing a press conference in the capital on Sunday, officials of NADA said that the 11th NADA Auto Show aims at promoting the growth of domestic automotive industry. “Automobile sector is one of largest sources of revenue for the government. Thousands of people are employed in the sector,” Anjan Shrestha, president of NADA, said. “The annual event targets to further boost the automobile industry which growing by 35 percent annually.”

The industry is employing around 1.7 people directly or indirectly, according to Shrestha.

According to the organizers, the NADA Auto Show 2016 offers an excellent platform to automobile dealers and automotive component dealers and suppliers for presentation of new products and technologies as well as for the exchange of information and the establishment of new business contacts. “The event is also a platform for new launches. This year there will be launches of automobiles as well as automotive components,” added Shrestha. 

The NADA Auto Show 2016 will have around 125 stalls and blocks occupied by 73 brands, including local as well as international brands, products and services. Sixteen four-wheelers brands, 15 two-wheeler brands and five brands of heavy commercial vehicles are participating in the auto show.

Four-wheeler brands like Datsun, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mahindra, MG, Nissan, Renault, Skoda, Suzuki, Tata, Toyota, Volkswagen and Ssangyong, heavy commercial vehicle brands like Ashok Leyland, Eicher, Escorts, Mahindra, Tata, and two-wheeler brands like Bajaj, Bela, Benelli, Hero, Honda, KTM, Mahindra, Royal Enfield, Runner, Scomadi, Suzuki, TVS, UM, Vespa and Yamaha, among others, are participating in the event.

Shambhu Dahal, coordinator of the event, said the exhibition will also have stalls of financial institutions, new technological developments and firms dealing on auto safety technology, spare parts, lubricants, tire, generator, garage equipments, batteries and other accessories. “There will be separate sections for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, commercial vehicles and financial institutions,” added Dahal. 

The event is expected to draw around 50,000 visitors.  NADA is expecting Rs 2 billion worth of transactions during the auto show.
