Kathmandu sets final clash with Lumbini

KATHMANDU, April 4: Kathmandu and Lumbini advanced to the final of the Fourth National Blind Cricket Tournament. Kathmandu defeated Kaski by 16 runs while Lumbini defeated Banke by 10 wickets on Wednesday.



In the first semifinal played at Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk, Lumbini won the toss and invited Banke to bat first. [break]



In the 12-over match, Banke scored 80 runs losing all wickets in 11.5 overs. Durga Khadka scored 25 runs while Birendra Kunwar scored 17 runs. Man-of-the-match Khima Nanda Gaire grabbed three wickets for Lumbini while the other batsmen were short to the crease.



Lumbini successfully chased the target of 81 runs in 6.1 overs without losing a wicket. Sunil Chhetri and Shankar Regmi were unbeaten on 34 and 29 runs respectively.



In another semifinal, losing the toss Kathmandu scored 205 runs without losing a wicket in the 15-over match. Man-of-the-match Bhabishya Jha scored 96 runs while Kritan Shrestha scored 79 runs.



Chasing the huge target of 206 runs, Kaski managed to score 189 runs losing two wickets. Surya Bhattarai was unbeaten on 93 runs while Jeevan Tamang scored 28 runs.
