Two 'pahadis' in SP CC

KATHMANDU, April 2: In a bid to make the party inclusive, ruling Madhes-based Sadbhawana Party (SP) has taken initiative to accommodate leaders of hill origin in its central committee.



SP Chairman Rajendra Mahato, who is also health minister in the current cabinet, appointed Arjun Upreti and Narendra Raj Wagle as central committee members on Monday.



“As we are planning to accommodate leaders from all communities in our party, our chairman appointed two people from pahadi community as central committee members,” said General Secretary of SP Manish Suman.



With newly appointed members, the number of SP central committee members has reached 43. According to Suman, there were no members in the party´s central committee representing pahadi community earlier.



The Madhes-based party had recently formed its district chapter in Kaski, first ever in a hill district.
