Seventh international boarding school program begins

BHAKTAPUR, Dec 7: Kathmandu School of Law, Dadhikot, has started the 7th International Boarding School Program entitled ´Economic, social and development rights and good governance´ with a slogan ‘law and development’.



As many as 28 students of Nepal and 12 students of India, Sri Lanka, China, Bangladesh and Malawi have been participating in the program. The program has been started from Wednesday and will run for 21 days. [break]



A total of 16 persons of Nepal, India and Bangladesh have been participating as resource persons. The program will be held at Telkot, a rural area of Bhaktapur district, for 15 days and information about situation of law and development will be acquired by reaching to different VDCs of Sindhupalchowk district.



The team will take information about problems seen in the development of rural areas, developments that could not be made due to legal errors in law, situation of implementation of law in rural areas and improvements to be made in law.



Similarly, studies of major problems, development, law and interrelation related to human rights and development and role of international human rights organizations will be carried out, informed Coordinator of the program, Pradeep Pathak.



The team will prepare a declaration and will be submitted to the Government of Nepal, donor agencies of Nepal and international organizations.



Inaugurating the program, Chairman of the Tribhuvan University Grant Commission Ganesh Man Gurung said that the program will be effective as the data will be collected on the situation of law in rural areas of the country and law will be publicized in those villages where there is the lack of legal awareness.



Chief of Kathmandu School of Law Yubaraj Sangraula claimed that the program however will help produce lawyers of international level in Nepal.



Last year, the KSL had studied about the conditions of violence against women and its situation in the rural areas.
