It's all about music!

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Music sometimes is like time traveling. I plugged my external disk to listen to some good old music from the yesteryears and every other song would remind me of one thing or the other.

Good, bad, sad and funny moments connected to each and every single one of them. I’m sure you have your moments, too, but let’s make way for some new singles that are going to make it big in ’Mandu and create moments with it! [break]

David Guetta doesn’t need an introduction. The French House music producer has made it big in the international scene; and his collaborations with various artists have only done him good and the artists of course.

He’s out with his new single and it’s with Usher this time, titled “Without You.” A love-lost song with a little twist and beats you can dance to. Nothing like Om Shanti Om’s Darde Disco!

Next stop, here’s a fresh-feel kind of music. Nelly always does good rapping and there’s just something to it.

He’s featured in Keri Hilson’s new song “Lose Control” and his raps add a different dimension to the whole song, also because he spits out sexually charged verses. Reminded me of the “Delimma” days! The song is about a guy she’s instantly attracted to while clubbing. Interesting, eh?

Another interesting fact is that Coldplay’s gone a little more pop-ish! “Paradise,” the new single from the “Yellow” and “In My Place” hit makers has got a different tune than their previous tracks but definitely retains the “Coldplay touch.”

The band plans to drop their 5th effort later this month titled “Mylo Xyloto.” Frontman Chris Martin explained that the title of the album means “whatever we want it to mean.”

To him, it means a freedom of expression and that there are still things we can invent, like thinking up new words. Out of the box creativity? A bit o’ that, I guess.

Talking of which, Country music’s gem of a singer, Dolly Parton is out with her brand new single “Together You and I.”

The 65-year-old not only sounds fantastic but is all set to start a kickoff with other young country artists! It’s amazing how she still sounds so crisp and calm.

She truly deserves the Queen’s crown when it comes to Country music.

Changing the beats now, and going a little R&B, Timbaland is out with his sizzling new single titled “Pass at Me.” This one-of-a kind producer and singer always has something “nice” to offer. He’s collaborated with Pitbull this time around for his album “Shock Value III.” When I heard the song, it was like the beat master is finally back on the track.

Also, Mary J Blige is out with her new single “25/8” and she sounds exactly the same as she did a decade back. “My Life II: The Journey Continues” is the title of Blige’s upcoming album which happens to be a sequel to her 1994 set “My Life.”

According to the singer, the new disc reflects the times and lives of people all around her whereas the song is a typically heart-bursting up-tempo ode to loving someone so much there’s simply not enough time. By the way, just so you may know, Mary J’s entire album collection is worth purchasing!

Lastly, Lenny Kravitz is trying to get back into the music scene but it’s not exactly happening.

His current album “Black and White America” made a slight mark in the European market but not even a scratch in the UK and US charts.

His latest release “Rock Star City Life” is, well, not as interesting or amazing as his other singles but that’s for you to decide.

Also, ending on a high and positive note, check out Jennifer Lopez’s new single called “Starting Over” if you haven’t heard it yet.

Amazing piece of music and you can so say that it’s J.Lo’s life in her music!
