KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Mayanka Rana has registered two wins on the same day in the ongoing Nepal ITF Junior U-18 Tennis Tournament Circuit Two on Tuesday.
She won two games in singles and doubles categories.
In girls’ singles category, Rana beat India’s Khusi Sharma on straight sets of 6-3, 6-1.
Whereas, in girls’ doubles, the pair of Mayanka and Mahika saw off India’s Shree Nidhi Shreedhar and Raina Jaffar 6-3, 6-1.
Mayanka advanced to the last 16 of singles category, and last eight of the doubles.
In the other matches of girls’ doubles, the Nepali pair of Abhilasha Bista and Ira Rawat also registered wins.
They beat Japan’s Mijusura and Nepal’s Prakriti Shrestha 6-0, 6-2 and paved their way to the quarterfinals.
Likewise, in boys’ doubles, the pair of Nepal’s Pranav Khanal and Korea’s Ji Ho Lee saw off the
United States’ Sanme Gandhi and Japan’s Keiju Miyake 3-6, 6-2 (10-1) to make their way to the last eight rounds.
Also, in boys’ singles, India’s Rudaya Shah overcame Malaysia’s Chong Jhi Jing 6-2, 6-2, Japan’s Riko Kamikura defeated India’s Panyatoya Mohpatra 6-0, 6-0, and the Philippines’ Kamensta Isabella Carlos saw off India’s Priyanshi Sharma 6-2, 6-3 to reach the last 16.
Lastly, in boys’ singles, India’s Krishan Huda beat Nepal’s Ninwam Rai 6-0, 6-0, Korea’s Jiho Lee defeated Japan’s Taiyo Hirano 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, Chinese Taipei’s Chiya Fan Sau overcame India’s Ikbal Mohammad Khan 6-3, 6-3, and Hong Kong’s Hon Chun Lee saw off India’s Rohan Shreewastav 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the last 16.
