KATHMANDU, Aug 9: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N) Chairman Kamal Thapa has ruled out the possibility of unification with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Chairman Thapa said the RPP joined the government at the eleventh hour of the party unification, making the unification impossible.
The RPP and RPP-N were scheduled to unify at 12 pm today. But possibility of the unification between the two parties ended after the RPP sent leaders Dipak Bohara and Bikram Pandey to the government yesterday.
Thapa also blamed the domestic and international elements for not letting the unification happen.
Meanwhile, Thapa also vented his ire over RPP Chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana for dumping the unification process.
“Rana did not make any efforts on his part for unification,” said he, “the unification process had started just before then Lokendra Bahadur Chand resigned as RPP Chairman.”
We initiated to form unity among the nationalists at a time when the sectarian and foreign powers are playing a divide and rule game but Rana did not cooperate with us, said Thapa.
