33-party alliance calls off banda

KATHMANDU, Sept 4: The 33-party alliance led by CPN-Maoist has called off its proposed banda program called for September 11 in view of final match of the South Asian Football Federation Championship tournament, on Wednesday.



Organizing a press conference in the capital today, CPN-Maoist Secretary Dev Gurung announced the withdrawal of the program.



Speaking at the program, Maoist leader said that his party has not closed the door of the talks with the government and High Level Political Committee.



On the occasion, Gurung said that Nepal Army should not be mobilized during the elections. “Army should not be misused by deploying during the elections as it is mobilized to protect the national independence" Gurung argued.
