Govt holds talks with Morcha

KATHMANDU, July 12: The Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction, and the Akhil Tarai Mukti Morcha, an outfit waging a struggle in the Tarai, held second round of parley on Tuesday.



In the talks held at the Ministry, the Morcha demanded the government to provide relief to the injured and the martyrs´ families and release its cadres under detention, according to Gyanendra Dhakal, Under-Secretary at the Ministry.[break]



Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Bishwo Nath Saha, Minister at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Minister for Agriculture Hari Narayan Yadav participated in the talks from the government side while talks coordinator of Morcha Binod Kumar Chaudhari, Santosh Kumar Pande ´Pavan Bidrohi´ and Dip Lal Sahani participated from the Morcha.



The third round of the talks between the government and the Morcha will be held at the Ministry on July 17.



The first round of talks was held on May 7, 2010.
