GORKHA, Nov 2: Thirty-two persons including Chief District Officer (CDO) Tirtha Bhattarai of Gorkha have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
CDO Bhattarai wrote on social media that he and his spouse had tested positive for COVID-19. Bhattarai underwent a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on Friday after he started suffering from common cold and cough. He was in home quarantine after falling sick.
“I urge everyone who came into my contact to take necessary precautions,” Bhattarai wrote on social media.
Trace and test
According to the health division of Gorkha Municipality, 32 individuals are found to have been infected with the coronavirus. Of them, 10 are from Gorkha Municipality, seven each from Palungtar Municipality and Ajirkot Rural Municipality, four from Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality and one from Aarughat Rural Municipality.
