Accountant Bajande has been found involved with vehicle smugglers who bring in stolen vehicles from India. He is said to have staged arrests and later auctioned off the seized vehicles to individuals in his own group, to legalize such vehicles.[break]
Police started investigating Bajande after he pretended to be investigating a stolen car found in Bhairawa and insisted that police hand over the vehicle to him. A police officer informed that for almost a year now he has been asking police to hand over the vehicle to him.
Similarly, Bashyal has been found evading tax for his Indian registered vehicle which was found in Nawalparasi district along with machinery for installing boring pumps. He had been using the vehicle illegally for the past 14 months.
Newly transferred chief of Revenue Investigation Department Narayan Acharya said he was unaware of such activities but said they were wrongful it they had taken place. The two accused deny any wrongdoing.
