3-party meet by Friday

KATHMANDU, June 23: Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML on Wednesday agreed to call a three-party meeting by Friday in a bid to find an end to the ongoing political deadlock.



A meeting of the two parties on Wednesday decided to call the meeting with the UCPN (Maoist). According to UML leader Bishnu Poudel, the two parties held detailed discussion on how to implement the May 28 three-point deal at the earliest.



The two parties maintained that Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal´s resignation and agreement on peace process and constitution drafting must go simultaneously.



NC Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Krishna Sitaula, UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal and Bishnu Poudel, among others, attended the meeting.
