Nepal Army said former Indian Army chief Shankar Roychowdhury has arrived in Kathmandu Thursday and other two former Indian Army chiefs -- Sunith Francis Rodrigues and Deepak Kapoor -- will be arriving in Kathmandu on Friday. [break]
Former army chief Roychowdhury was welcomed by Adjutant General Mahesh Bikram Karki at Tribhuvan International Airport. The three former generals are scheduled to visit different places of religious and archealogical importance and will return home on March 12. They are scheduled to call on Nepal Army Chief Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana on Monday.
The army said the three have been conferred on the title of Honorary General of the Nepal Army during various occasions in the past. Roychowdhury was conferred on the title on June 8 1995, Rodrigues on March 13, 1992 and Kapoor Jan 21, 2010.
