3 dead in bus-auto rickshaw collision in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT, August 18: Three people died in Rautahat when a bus and an auto rickshaw collided.


According to the police, three people died in the accident that took place on the Rautahat section of the East-West highway on Thursday morning.

According to the local police office at Chandranigahapur, a public bus (Bagmati 001 KHA 201) going from Kathmandu to Sarlahi and an auto rickshaw (Madhesh 001 BA 2109) going from east to west collided with each other.


Four people in the auto rickshaw were seriously injured when the two vehicles collided. When all the seriously injured were taken to the hospital, doctors declared three of them dead.


The bus and the bus driver have been detained and further investigation is being conducted into the incident, according to the Chandranigahapur Area Police Office.
