BANKE, April 24: Three children from the same household were killed when they got caught up in a fire that razed down their and their neighbour's house at Kuduwa Gaun in Daduwa rural municipality-1 in Banke district yesterday night.
The deceased have been identified as six-year-old Pawan Murau, and eight-year-old and 10-year-old girls, Radhana Murau and Soni Murau respectively.
The fire that accidently broke out at around 12 mid-night in the house of Dulare Murau and Munsi Murau burnt down their houses besides seven other adjacent houses, and two cow sheds, according to the Chief District Officer, Rabi Lal Panth.
Properties worth Rs 1 million were destroyed in the fire, police said.
The fire was doused after fighting it for five hours through joint efforts of the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and the locals.
The Red Cross Society, Banke Chapter reached the accident spot and handed over materials worth around Rs 10,000 to each family as a relief material. RSS
