'Make drug abuse control a common agenda'

BANKE (Nepalgunj), May 10: Participants at a program organized in Nepalgunj stressed the need of making drug abuse prevention a common agenda.

Informing that a building of Drug Abuse Rehabilitation Centre has been constructed in Itahari in line with the state’s policy, joint secretary at Home Ministry, Janak Raj Dahal said the building for rehabilitation of drug abuse will be arranged in Nepalgunj soon.



Local youths have been entrapped in the vicious circle of drug abuse as Nepalgunj is adjacent to the Indian border, he said, adding that the efforts put up by Banke locals and police administration will be exemplary to others.



Banke Chief District Officer Basudev Dahal expressed confidence that the drug abuse preventive efforts will be materialized in Banke if there is cooperation from all fronts.



Joint Secretary Dahal presided over the program.
