Five killed in landslip

TANAHUN, March 29: Four men and a woman died after being buried by landslip in Gorkha on Monday. They were buried while building a track road.



Those dead have been identified as 50-year-old Dorje Lama, 39-year-old Sange Dorje Lama, 39-year-old Nalang Lundup Lama, 40-year-old Chewang Dunduk Lama and 23-year-old Enjen Lama, according to Chiring Yangdi Lama, a local. [break]



They were residents of Chekampar VDC ward number 6 and 7.



They were building the track road after getting fund from the VDC. Villagers of Lar, Khurpe and Khanju Chaurikharka are building track roads connecting Lar and Khurpe villages with Khanju Chaurikharka. Eighteen villages were working on the track road when the landslip struck.



Thirteen of them escaped unharmed. One has to walk for six days from the district headquarters to reach the site.
