28 killed in monsoon-induced disasters across country

KATHMANDU, July 26: A total of 28 people lost their lives, 10 sustained injuries and 24 others are missing in rain-induced disasters in different parts of the country on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, July 26: A total of 28 people lost their lives, 10 sustained injuries and 24 others are missing in rain-induced disasters in different parts of the country on Tuesday.



According to Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), six people were killed in Pyuthan, five in Gulmi, four in Baglung and Palpa, three in Makwanpur, two in Rupandehi and one in Kathmandu, Agrakhanchi, Dolakha and Sarlahi.  



Likewise, three people were injured in Gulmi, two in Kathmandu and Baglung and one in Pyuthan, Dolakha and Agrakhanchi.  19 persons in Pyuthan, two in Baglung and one in Sunsari, Saptari and Jhapa are missing.



Floods and landslides have completely damaged 75 houses and partially damaged two houses, according to the Ministry.



Search and rescue operation is in full swing, MoHA said in a statement, adding that it has also directed local administrations to be alert for possible flood and landslide.
