KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Nabil Bank has announced that it has started importing US dollars directly to meet the requirement of its customers. Nepal Rastra Bank had recently given permission to do so.
This will help alleviate the acute shortage of US dollars in the market to a large extent, the bank has said, adding that Nepalis travelling abroad were facing great inconvenience due to dollar shortage. "Customers will now be able to obtain a combination of card and cash as and when required (up to the permitted limit) from Nabil Bank without having to go from bank to bank.
This facility will be available from all Nabin branches," said a press statement issued by the bank on Sunday. Sashin Joshi, CEO of the bank, said: "This import will now provide a one-stop solution to genuine requirements for foreign currency."
