KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The 26th general convention of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), the umbrella organization of Nepali journalists, began on Wednesday morning.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun inaugurated the FNJ convention amid a function at the City Hall, Exhibition Road.
A closed session of the convention will begin shortly after the ongoing open session. The closed session will endorse separate reports to be submitted by FNJ general secretary Ramesh Bista and its treasurer Rajesh Mishra.
The FNJ has to elect a new central committee within one month after holding the general convention as per the FNJ statute.
The slogal for 26th FNJ convention has been "Foundation of press freedom: Safe and professional journalist".
