KATHMANDU, April 2: Minister for Youth and Sports Gopal Man Shakya unveiled the historic jacket and other materials used by Pemba Dorje Sherpa during his conquest of the Mount Everest on May 8, 2007, at the Olympic Museum Thursday.[break]
The jacket carries flags of 250 nations apart from the Olympic and United Nations flags.

Sherpa holds the world record of the fastest ascent of the Mount Everest clocking eight hours and 10 minutes which is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Sherpa broke Babu Chhiri’s record of 16 hours and 56 minutes made in 2003. Sherpa has so far succeeded in climbing Mount Everest nine times.
“I invested Rs 25,000 to collect the flags of 250 countries across the globe,” Sherpa said adding “An American wanted to buy my jacket for $ 25,000, but I denied it”.
