KATHMANDU, August 25: Various complaints have been lodged at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), demanding action against Tribhuvan University (TU) officials and officials of Nepal Medical Council (NMC) for granting affiliation to Kathmandu National Medical College (KNMC).
Bibeksheel Sajha Party and Mahesh Pathak of Makawanpur registered separate complaints at the anti-graft body on Thursday. In the complaints, they have categorically demanded action against TU Vice-chancellor Tirtha Khaniya, Rector Sudha Tripathi and Registrar Dilliram Uprety, and NMC officials and politicians and other individuals involved in producing fake documents aimed at providing affiliation to the medical college.
The college lacks basic infrastructures required for operating a hospital and a medical college. But TU has granted affiliation to the college.
As many as 40 leaders and cadres of the Bibeksheel Sajha Party had reached the CIAA headquarter to register the complaints.
