The donor agencies and foreign countries have involved in projects especially in energy, local development, health, and road construction sectors.
At the two-day meeting that began today, the representatives of the donor agencies including the World Bank, ADB, JICA, EU, DFID, and UNDP and various ministries of the Government of Nepal will discuss contract of the project, procurement procedure, the auditing process, hiring of consultants, participation and ownership of the project.
Addressing the meeting, Finance Minister Barshaman Pun lauded the role of donor agencies for continued assistance to Nepal and said the government had valued foreign donation for the development activities including constitution making and the peace process.
Similarly, the UNDP resident representative Robert Piper suggested the effective implementation of the projects in order to meet the Millennium Development Goals and poverty alleviation target.
Finance Secretary, Krishna Hari Baskota said the meeting would be fruitful on establishing ownership of project partners, transparency, and concerted efforts for implementation.
