KATHMANDU, Nov 19: A group of 26 Nepali diplomats and officers from 10 key Ministries and Departments of the Government of Nepal is visiting India from November 20 to 30, 2024. They are set to participate in the first Special Training Programme for Nepali diplomats and officers at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.
The delegation includes representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and the Department of Railways.
Diplomats question Prithvi Narayan's role in nation-building
The training programme will cover key topics of global political and economic importance, including trade and connectivity, climate change and humanitarian assistance, development partnership, and shared culture and heritage. It will also feature visits to cities and historical sites outside New Delhi.
Before their departure to India, Shri Prasanna Shrivastava, deputy chief of mission at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, interacted with the 26 diplomats and officers on November 19, 2024. He wished them a productive, enriching, and enjoyable training experience in New Delhi.
This visit continues the institutional exchanges between India and Nepal, underscoring the close and unique bilateral relationship between the two nations.
