KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Karin Landgren, the chief of United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN), said that the UN Security Council can think positively on UN presence if all political parties request for it.

Talking to media after her meeting with UCPN (Maoist) vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai at the latter’s residence at Sanepa on Wednesday morning, Landgren said it’s not possible now for UNMIN’s term extension.

Dr Bhattarai said that he told her that UN presence is still necessary for the conclusion of the peace process. “It would be good if it can stay,” he said.
