25 drug abusers treated in Ashara Rehab Centre

KATHMANDU, September 17: Ashara Rehabilitation Centre at Ranibari in Kathmandu district has already helped a total of 2,513 drug users over the two decades to combat their drug abuse problems.

KATHMANDU, September 17: Ashara Rehabilitation Centre at Ranibari in Kathmandu district has already helped a total of 2,513 drug users over the two decades to combat their drug abuse problems. 



The Rehab Centre run by Nepal Police Wives Association made public the figure amid a programme organized here today on the occasion of 21st anniversary. 



On the occasion, Inspector General Prakash Aryal underscored the need to launch the drive from our homes to prevent drug addiction. He also pointed the need for running a separate rehabilitation centre for female drug users on accounts of their increasing numbers. 



Centre's Secretary Rambha Lama shared that of the total 4,078 drug users admitted to the Centre during this course, the Centre has helped rehabilitate altogether 2,513 members. 

Centre's Chairperson Seema Aryal said that the drug treatment facility had been providing drug addiction treatment to the youths fallen prey to drug abuse. 



The centre currently has 78 drug users availing treatment that includes medication, counselling and therapy session among others. 



On the occasion, various individuals and police persons contributing to the establishment and development of the Centre were honoured.
