KATHMANDU, July 19: This year, the Police Headquarters has awarded 24 police officers including Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Meera Chaudhary, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Buddhi Gurung, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dan Bahadur Karki of the District Police Office, Kathmandu.


Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar awarded them with cash for their good work.

Earlier, IGP Kunwar had given special promotions to nine police personnel. According to the provisions of Section 39 of the Police Act 2071 BS, on the last day of the last fiscal year, IGP Kunwar promoted one police constable, 5 police assistant head constables, 2 assistant sub-inspectors and one sub-inspector.


Two days later, 24 police officers including heads of various offices were awarded. According to the police headquarters, they were awarded because this kind of award sends a positive message to the police personnel and boosts their morale.
