24 kg of unclaimed marijuana found

UDAYAPUR, Dec 14: A team of Katari Area Police Office, Udayapur which was on patrol on Monday, found 24 kg of unclaimed marijuana in a bag on the banks of Baijnath and Tawa River.

UDAYAPUR, Dec 14: A team of Katari Area Police Office, Udayapur which was on patrol on Monday, found 24 kg of unclaimed marijuana in a bag on the banks of Baijnath and Tawa River.


According to the District Police Office, Udayapur, a patrol team of Deputy Inspector General of Police found a sack full of marijuana in the river bank.

According to the police, it has not been ascertained who brought the 24 kg cannabis and left it there. Police suspect that the smugglers might have left it there and fled after being spotted by the police.


Cannabis peddlers have been arrested time and again for smuggling marijuana through the Chure forest between Katari and Siraha.
