Other health facilities have launched the 24-hour 'birthing centre' from this year, according to Rural Municipality chief Raju Prasad Poudel.
We want that no woman has to suffer due to lack of timely treatment and other cares during pregnancy, delivery and post-natal period and hope that that availability of such facilities at any time in need would help reduce maternal death and child mortality rate, he added.
In the past, the Lukhudeurali Primary Health Center had not technology and human resources required to handle complicated maternity-related cases. The Rural Municipality this year allocated Rs 1.7 million to all health institutions to launch the services. (RSS)
