HIV affected family displaced

ITAHARI, Nov 8: An entire family the members of which are living with HIV/AIDS in Itahari has been displaced from their village due to social stigma and abject poverty.



The family has been compelled to leave their village and migrate to another district in search of work. [break]All members of this unfortunate family contracted HIV/AIDS in course of finding work in different places and now they have to leave their village after they did not became acceptable to the local community.



Misfortune fell on this family of four after it was confirmed from a medical examination that all of them have contracted HIV/AIDS. They were not accepted by the local community after it was known that all members of the family were living with HIV/AIDS.



Both parents and one son and one daughter of this family have HIV/AIDS. To add to the woes of this family, the woman of this family is pregnant and it has been confirmed that the fetus is also infected with HIV. The woman wants to abort the fetus but the family has no money for undergoing an abortion.
