23 hurt in separate Mahottari bus accidents

GAUSHALA, Oct 15: As many as twenty-three people have been injured in separate bus accidents occurred in Mohattari on Tuesday.



Of the injured, condition of Asraf Rain, 35, of Mahottari VDC-1 is critical, according to the Area Police Office, Bardibas. He suffered serious injuries to his right leg. [break]



Twenty-two passengers sustained minor injuries when an over-speeding bus (Ba 2 Kha 2862) heading towards Gaigthat from the capital overturned on the road at Laxminiya-6. The driver lost the control of vehicle after its tyre got punctured. The accident took place at around 4:00 am.



Similarly, a bus (Na 2 Kha 3680) heading towards Janakpur from Dhangadhi overturned on the roadside in front of Kalash Petrol Pump at Bardibas-1. Asraf was travelling in the same bus, Inspector of Police Ashok Jha said.

All the injured including Asraf are undergoing treatment at the Bardibas-based Shuva Swastik Hospital, the police said.
