KATHMANDU, March 24: Police have seized and impounded 225 motorcycles driven by individuals under the influence of alcohol. According to security personnel, these motorcycles were confiscated at various locations across three districts within the Kathmandu Valley by 2PM.
"The number of seized motorcycles currently stands at 225 across the three districts of the valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhuktapur) as of 2PM. However, this figure may vary as our checks continue," stated Ranipokhari Police Spokesperson Superintendent of Police (SP) Awadesh Bista.

Police clarified that individuals found driving motorcycles under the influence of alcohol were promptly arrested, with the seized motorcycles set to be released to their owners later in the evening.
Furthermore, SP Bista stated that 16 individuals engaged in disorderly conduct, including public disturbance and disorderly shouting, were also apprehended.
In response to heightened security concerns during the Holi festivities, Kathmandu Valley Police have intensified surveillance and enforcement measures. This includes enhanced traffic checks, deployment of plainclothes officers, and aerial surveillance using drones, all aimed at minimizing accidents and maintaining public safety.
