SOLUKHUMBU, June 22: Bad weather has grounded regular flights at Lukla-based Tenzing Hillary Airport in the district.
According to Funuru Sherpa, chief of Tara Airlines at Tenzing Hillary Airport, the flights have been disrupted for the last seven days due to thick fog and incessant rains.
With the disruption of the flights in the region, passengers and tourists have been badly hit.
Tara Airlines used to make over 20 flights a day. Now all the flights of Tara Airlines have been grounded.
Over 100 domestic and foreign tourists heading to Kathmandu have been stranded at Lukla, with the flights grounded.
