CHITWAN, Dec 6: Female health volunteers working within the Bharatpur Metropolitan City were honored amidst a program on Tuesday.
On the occasion of 20th National Female Community Health Volunteers Day, as many as 207 women volunteers providing their services within Bharatpur were honored with cash.
Health Minister of Bagmati Province, Uttam Joshi feted female health volunteers. Minister Joshi shared that female volunteers were honored as part of the province government's program to acknowledge the contributions of health volunteers across the province.
Bagmati Province Assembly member Krishna Prasad Silwal and Iswor Sapkota stressed the need to address the genuine demands of volunteers in a sensitive manner.
Deputy mayor of Bharatpur Metropolis, Chitrasen Adhikari said the metropolis has been felicitating women volunteers aged above 60 every year with a cash reward of Rs 50,000 each.
