KATHMANDU, July 30: Suman Neupane, general manager and officiating CEO of Sunrise Bank Ltd, tendered his resignation Friday.

Neupane´s resignation has come at a time when the bank insiders have been claiming that there exists ´deep mistrust´ among board members. [break]

Two weeks ago, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) was forced to call all the directors of the bank to the central bank after the management failed to organize a crucial board meeting to close annual financial transactions amid deepening disputes among the bank directors.

The central bank had facilitated the meeting of the bank´s board of directors and the last board meeting of the fiscal year 2009/10 was held at the central bank itself.

Bank chairman Tolaram Dugar confirmed Neupane´s resignation. “We have received his resignation, but the bank´s board is yet to approve it,” Dugar added.
