During a secretary-level meeting of Ministry of Commerce and Supplies between the two countries, Bangladesh agreed to provide visa on arrival on reciprocal basis, according to Ganesh Prasad Dhakal, spokesperson at Ministry of Commerce and Supplies. [break]
Nepali delegation had asked Bangladesh to make such a provision to facilitate trade between the two countries during the meeting held to finalize draft Agreement on Operation Modalities for the Carriage of Transit Cargo between Nepal and Bangladesh.
Nepal has been providing visa on arrival to nationals of all SAARC countries except Afghanistan. Nepal had asked Bangladesh for reciprocal treatment to its nationals.
NICC urges workers to end strike
KATHMANDU, July 26: Nepal India Chamber of Commerce (NICC) has urged agitating workers of Arti Vegetable Products to withdraw their protest to create amicable solution to ongoing dispute between workers and company management.
Workers, who are staging protest to press the management address their demands, have brought all operations to a grinding halt.
Issuing a statement on Monday, NICC stated that such protest would further worsen the economic development of the country which is seeing slowdown and rising capital flight due to deteriorating industrial climate.
Annapurna Travels in Janakpur
KATHMANDU, July 26: Annapurna Travels -- one of Nepal´s primary agents for Western Union Money Transfer -- has extended its service to Janankpur.
Issuing a press statement, the company said the Janakpur office of Annapurna Travels was inaugurated by Atish Shrestha, country head of Western Union Money Transfer.
Annapurna Travels is one of the oldest and most extended agents of Western Union in Nepal and is the first remittance company to receive license from Nepal Rastra Bank, the statement added. Annapurna has more than 750 sub-agents across the country.
Western Union Money Transfer is the world´s largest money transfer networks that provide fast, reliable and convenient money transfer services.
BoK´s new saving scheme
KATHMANDU, July 26: Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) has launched a new regional savings account for its customers in Gandaki and Dhaulagiri zones.
Issuing a press statement, the bank said it will donate Rs 100 per new account to Bindhyabasani Dharmik Kshetra Bikash Samiti for the development of Bindhyabasini temple. The statement also added that the regional savings account offers 7.5 percent interest rate and the account can be opened from Pokhara and Khairenitar branches of the bank.
“In order to provide standardized services, we have plans to introduce various deposit products for customers residing in various regions. Regional account will further help benefit customers in different regions and will also be able to inculcate saving habits amongst them,” the statement added.
