RAUTAHAT, Nov 25: Police have arrested 30 cadres of CK Raut including Ahok Singh, chairman of Independent Madhes Alliance, from the district headquarters Gaur on Friday.
They were taken under control while they were entering Gaur from Indian border to stage demonstration demanding one single Madhes province stretching from Jhapa in the east to Kanchanpur in the far-west, according to police.
Police have arrested them from three different thoroughfares - Faran Goods Chowk, Bank Chowk, Hospital Chowk this afternoon.
“The security forces restricted them in the course of demonstration after they entered Gaur via the no-man’s-land,” DSP Nabin Krishna Bhandari told Republica Online.
CK Raut is a separatist leader who wants so secede the Madhesh region from Nepal.
