"Earthquake destroyed over 700,000 houses and at least 7,000 schools buildings across the country. Large number of public buildings including those of army, police and others are badly damaged," Oli said at UML party office in Balkhu on Thursday. "The government therefore has to make need assessment and take urgent measures to ensure that the displaced people are provided shelters."Stating that the criticism of the government over the delay in providng relief and other supports to the victims was justified, Oli urged the government to work without losing the sense of direction during the time of national crisis.
"People have complained of discrimination in relief distribution which is true," said Oli.
Oli criticized some hospitals that have deprived earthquake victims of health services citing the injured people's failure to produce money at the time.
He said hospitals must provide treatment on humanitarian ground and also because the government has reimburse the cost of treatment to the hospitals.
