The girl, who was in deep sleep, was abducted from her house and taken to a bamboo grove, around 300 meters to the north of the house and was raped repeatedly, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Govinda Ram Pariyar. [break]
While talking to a reporter from Republica, the girl shared that Bacchu Mahato, a local from her village, and another person, who she could not recognize, thrashed her and raped her by turns. Police have identified the other accused as Umesh Mahato.
"When I woke up, I was shocked to find myself in a bamboo grove and I was frightened to see Mahato and a stranger standing right in front of me," said the girl while narrating the dreadful incident. "I tried to fight back but the two men overpowered me. I lost my senses after a while," added the girl.
After having dinner around 9 pm Thursday, the girl and her younger brother had left for the bed and both were sleeping in the same room.
"I was totally clueless when all this happened. Had I woken up, I would have certainly saved my sister," said the girl´s brother, Mukesh Sah.
Police had rushed the girl to the District Hospital, Guar immediately after recovering the girl in an unconscious state. Locals were the first to spot the girl early in the morning.
"The condition of the girl is critical," said chairperson of the hospital, Dr Prasanta Tripathi.
