2,300 votes cast in NC election

KATHMANDU, Sept 21: More than 2,300 delegates had cast their votes by 3:30 pm on Tuesday to elect a new leadership on the fifth day of the 12th General Convention.



The convention election committee has added an hour to vote, according to Radheshyam Adhikari, the co-ordinator of the committee. The election begun at 10 am, two hours later than the scheduled start time.

The election committee hopes that more than 3,000 among 3,088 delegates will vote by 5 pm. [break]


President hopefuls Sushil Koirala, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Bhim Bahadur Tamang have cast their votes.


The voting is being held at the Nepal Academy premises at Kamaladi.
