KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Nepal lost an opening match of Group D in women's football to Vietnam in the 19th Asian Games. In the match held at Hangzhou of China on Friday, the Vietnamese squad emerged victorious against Nepal by 2-0. In the first half, both teams played a goalless draw.

But in the second half of the match, Vietnam led the competition by two, scoring the first goal in the 53rd minute followed by the second goal in the 64th minute.
Nepal will meet Japan for its second match on September 25.
