194 new companies pledged Rs 146 billion investment during mid-July and mid-October

KATHMANDU, OCT 24: The country received pledged investment totaling Rs 146 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. 


The records of the Department of Industry (DoI) show that a total of 194 companies, which include both domestic and foreign companies, pledged the aforementioned amount during mid-July and mid-October this year. Of them, 107 are foreign direct investment and the remaining 87 are domestic companies.

According to the DoI, the domestic companies have proposed a total investment worth Rs 122 billion. During the period, 26 large, 34 medium and 27 small industries were registered by the domestic investors.


Likewise, foreign companies pledged to invest Rs 24 billion. They have targeted to provide job opportunities to 7,195 people.
